Easier? / Better? / Truer?

Is it easier

to tell

someone you were in love with

that you are no longer in love

with them –

or tell them, instead,

that you love

another woman more?

Is it better to tell someone you were in love with

that you are no longer in love with them –

or tell them, instead, you love another woman more?

Is it truer to tell someone you were in love with that you are no longer in love with them – or tell them, instead, you now love another woman more?

Which is more noble?

Which is less cruel?

Which leaves you open to not being the fool you now feel you’ve been seen as this all of your life:

a man they’d accused of losing his marbles

when, in reality,

the only thing he was missing – no longer, one hopes

was the assumption by sundry and all that his dearest beloved man-riven balls had never quite been in the place they’d deserved …

Time, then, to use ’em,

yeah?

Time, then (oh Lordy!), to use ’em right …
