When you assume …

When you assume people act competently

then the good becomes merely – weirdly! – a tool 

to an end.

And the bad becomes deliberated, even hated acts

against your person.

That’s why I have always preferred to believe in 

venial incompetence, rather than attach myself

to the fear I’ve heard that shit you’ve shifted long my way

was meant to stick and stay.
